Tick season has begun. So far this Spring, I have removed ticks from some very brave students.

After spending time outdoors, please check yourself, your children and your pets for ticks.

Here is a link to information about ticks including prevention and removal of ticks.

Snapshots of the health office

Sunday, January 15th, 2012

Students in kindergarten and grade 1 had their vision and hearing checked earlier this school year. Grade 2 students were checked if their parents or teachers had concerns about their ability to see or hear.

The hearing screening involves wearing “old fashioned” headphones and listening to beeps.

The vision screening involves covering one eye (like my two friends in the picture) and identifying pictures or letters.

Students, thank you for doing a great job!

Parents, if I had concerns about your child’s screening results, I would have contacted you and recommended you discuss the vision and hearing results with your child’s health care provider.
